It may be necessary to place an object such as a bucket between the furniture and the cover to help the airflow & prevent the chance of rotting occurring.
Alexander Rose garden covers are designed to be breathable to prevent the build-up of mildew on the item underneath, so are not 100% water-proof. For items with flat tops, we recommend placing an item underneath to create a slope on the cover for water to run off naturally and allows for additional air-flow for the product.
