The Teak Root Rectangular Coffee Table is a dramatic example of furniture incorporating minimally-altered nature, this teak root coffee table is a raw, twisting beauty. Teak is a tropical hardwood found largely in the mixed forests of Indonesia and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. It resists moisture and pests, giving it indoor-outdoor versatility, and has long been recognised for its terrific durability.

The Teak Root Rectangular Coffee Table has been handcrafted using a carefully chosen 100% reclaimed teak root trunk, which is naturally eye-catching with its intriguing shape, colour and texture. The trunk has been hand cut at the top and bottom to form a flat, stable base and a smooth upper surface which supports the rectangular piece of safety glass. These the flat sections of the teak root have then been sanded smooth and polished to bring out the deep, rich brown colour of the wood. 

The glass is toughened safety glass that is 8 mm thick with bevelled edges, which makes this glass top extremely heavy. It simply rests on top of the root and is supported very safely by the structure of the root base underneath.

Each root is very unique and you will never see the same root detailing twice, the sculptured root base is sourced from the National Indonesian Eco Programme. Excavating the roots encourages regrowth of forests and promotes sustainable livelihoods for local people. 

These beautifully sculpted roots feature all the natural curves and shapes of the root and its warm natural colours, making these stunning tables an eye-catching focal point in your living space.
